About Avery Bee Co.

We’re Kerry and Johnna Padgett — family-owned and operated beekeepers based in North Carolina.

We began beekeeping in 2012 with a few backyard hives and a simple curiosity that quickly became something more. Over time, that curiosity turned into a deep respect for the honeybee, the land, and the quiet discipline required to do this work well.

Today, we manage between 25 and 35 hives throughout the season, producing thoughtfully harvested honey that reflects the natural rhythm of North Carolina blooms.

Avery Bee Co. is rooted in stewardship — a commitment to care for what’s been entrusted to us, to work with intention, and to never rush a process that was never meant to be hurried.

This is not just what we do. It’s how we live.

Our Philosophy

We believe good honey begins with well-cared-for bees.

Our role is simple: to do everything we can to support the health and strength of our hives so they can thrive and produce honey as they were designed to. That means paying attention, staying hands-on, and respecting the natural order of the colony — from our hardworking girls to the occasional drone.

We don’t force the process. We support it. Because when bees are cared for properly, everything else follows.

Our Process

Our honey is harvested with the seasons and handled in small batches.

Each pour is done intentionally — often prepared as orders are placed — ensuring freshness, quality, and minimal disruption to the integrity of the honey.

We keep our process simple and thoughtful, allowing the natural color, flavor, and texture to speak for itself.

Nothing rushed. Nothing overworked. Just real honey, as it should be.

Quietly crafted. Deeply rooted. Always intentional.
